Santo Nino Basilica: It is a 16th century church in Cebu City in the Philippines. The Basilica is a place of prayer and pilgrimage of hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. It is claimed that it was built on the exact spot where the image of the Santo Niño, a sculpture depicting the Holy Child Jesus was founded by Spanish explorers in 1565 preserved in a burned wooden box which was left behind during the 1521 Magellan expedition. Today, the church draws devotees, churchgoers, tourists, pilgrims, and candle and other vendors. Taoist Temple: The Taoist temple is open to the worshipers and non-worshipers alike. It was built by Cebu's substantial Chinese community. The temple is the center of worship for Taoism, the religion which follows the teachings of the ancient Chinese philosopher, Lao Tze. The temple has an elevation of 300 meters above sea level. There are some 81 steps representing the 81 chapters of the Taoism scriptures. Mactan Island: Being one of the major tourist Islands of Cebu, Mactan Island boast of a diverse tourist spots and attractions. Today the island is known for its furniture and industrial factories, which are some of the most successful industries in the Philippines. Mactan offers some of the best diving, snorkling, island hopping, jet ski, Para sailing, historical, Cultural activites of any island in the Philippines. Every year in April, there is a big anniversary with lots of entertainment at this park. There is no entrence fee too. This is the best time to reserve Cebu flights.
